Red Feather Studios: Open for Business

November 05, 2014 by Aural Wes in home, Article

As of this week, students now have access to a professional-quality recording studio right here on campus. Red Feather Studios, which has been in the works for several years, has finally found its home in the University Organizing Center basement.

In addition to basic recording equipment, the student-run studio provides several amenities including vocal booths, a drum set, and software such as Logic and Ableton. Leaders of the project have made Red Feather accessible to a wide variety of genres in the hopes of bringing together Wesleyan’s diverse music scene.

“It’s hard not to get romantic about the fact that we’re seeing this happen for real,” says David Peck '17, describing the studio as “a space where we can all cooperate, have fun, and make beautiful stuff.”

Students interested in making beautiful stuff should visit the Red Feather Studios website to learn more about the initiative, or attend the grand opening celebration on Saturday, November 8th.
