BALKAN MEETS PUNK
+the murdertones & MEG
Earth House // Friday 10 PM
Nice Driveway plays contemporary funk Balkan jams. When asked about the origins of their name: The name is an English approximation of the Macedonian phrase for "Cheers!" : "Na Zdravje!" (literally translated as "to your health") When founding member Tano Brock was studying music in Macedonia, he was told to remember the phrase by thinking of the English phrase, "Nice Driveway."
Coming at you with a combination of classic Beatles covers and original material, the murdertones are back and better than ever!
MEG is a freshman garage pop project by Jake Rogers (THE MONEY), Chris Reed (THE ENERGY), and Meg West (THE GUNS). They’re loud, they’re mad, and they’re the first ones playing this Friday.
Pine Palace // Friday 11 PM
Rico plays garage rock with funk and blues influences, the kind of music they hope will someday convince "the Black Keys and the White Stripes settle their differences and have a beer together."
After making his debut at Awesome Fest, Wyrus is back to open for Rico this Friday at Pine Palace. Mixing deft wordplay with spacey West Coast beats, he'll give you great music and it'll go right in your ears.
